Extract OCR – Identity Document & Image OCR API

Extract OCR solves the problem of manually reading and entering information from identity documents and scanned images—a process that is slow, repetitive, and prone to errors. It gives developers a simple way to turn Nigerian identity documents, receipts, invoices, forms, and scanned pages into structured data that can be used directly inside applications, onboarding flows, verification systems, or back-office processes. For identity documents, it also provides confidence scores, warnings, document classification, and manual-review signals so applications can better handle uncertain results. It works through a developer-friendly API. A developer creates an account, generates an API key, and sends an image to the appropriate OCR endpoint together with a unique job ID and optional hints. Extract OCR processes the image and returns a consistent JSON response containing the extracted fields or detected text, confidence information, warnings, and document details where applicable. This makes it easy to plug OCR and document extraction into an existing application without building the entire recognition pipeline from scratch
